This collection is a continuation of my previous explorations, where I have depicted layers of torn and worn-out wallpaper. These layers, like boundaries between past and present, are filled with memories that no longer have any connection to today’s world. Within the space of these works, there exists a nostalgic object that no longer serves a function, reminding us solely of a past period of life.

This collection indirectly speaks to the processes of loss and the erosion of bonds and connections. As Sohrab Sepehri says in his poem:

“The tree, embraced by the earth,
has fallen asleep.
Life is a dream.
The living are asleep,
and the dead are awake.”
